A Proven Partner in Electron Beam Processing

For over 25 years, Mercury Plastics has been at the forefront of electron beam (E-Beam) processing, helping manufacturers enhance material performance in a variety of products. We operate two of the largest electron beam accelerators in North America, backed by an experienced engineering & technical team with a key focus on servicing our customers.

E-Beam

What Is Electron Beam Processing?

Electron beam (e-beam) processing uses accelerated, high-energy electrons to modify the physical and chemical properties of materials, leading to effects like polymer crosslinking, bioburden reduction, or sterilization. The process involves an accelerator creating a beam of electrons that strikes a product, causing beneficial molecular-level changes without creating residual radiation. Key applications include improving polymer strength, bioburden reduction in a variety of products, and sterilization of medical devices.

With both a 5 MeV and a 10 MeV accelerator, we provide cross-linking and irradiation services in an environmentally friendly manner that improves product performance without the need for chemical additives.

Our goal is simple: make it easy for you to get superior results, faster.
